A big thank you!

Just a quick note to let you know that Neithan is out of the hospital and back home with the ones that love him and missed him. He will require a little oxygen and monitors at home plus he will be in antibiotics profilaxis for the next 3 months. I know that all your prayers got a lot to do with him pulling thru this one, so I wanted to let you know how appreciative and thankful we all are. Thanks from the bottom of our hearts and continue to have this little men in your prayers. Blessings, Marta.

randomness and a prayer request

Hello friends. It had been so long.  Life happens, the good , the bad and everything else. Last Sunday after weeks of travels and really busy times at the shop I was experiencing my first day with nothing schedule in the agenda. It felt weird, I just almost never get those kind of days. I slept until 9:00 and sat at the computer thinking I get to do nothing for a day. I got a phone call from my mom, which immediately freaks me out since that mama never calls, I do all the calling. Well , my beloved nephew Neithan was admitted to the PICU with a bad pneumonia. It had been almost a week and baby Neithan is not improving. I spend last night with him and my brother and let me tell you it breaks my heart. He looks so weak and tired. I have been praying for a miracle. He suffers from SMA which is a rare form of muscular dystrophy. Medically he is not expected to make it beyond his teenager years but he had been deteriorating at a faster pace. My heart aches since I went through something similar with my son for 13 years. I know that God is able so I rest in that. Please, prayer warriors help me pray for Neithan and the rest of the family. We need all the prayers we can get.

On a lighter note I took a couple of pictures of the show in Cleburne. We found loads of great stuff and got the best weather on Friday.
If you like roses that was the place to find some very rare ones.

I like the Cleburne show the best because it is not as overwhelming as the Roundtop show.

This was Robelyn  from Redneck chic booth. Her purses are to die for.

Want, want, want. I beg my husband for this one, he would not budge. So no pretty purse for Marta.

One last story, I don't know if this will turn out to be a happy one. Buyers remorse big time. I came across this guy with a trailer full of beautiful fabrics. I only spend  60.00. We started to talk and he said he got 500 rolls of fabric and asked me if I was interested in buying in bulk. I told him I will consider the deal. Well, he called me Monday as agreed and I told him I was not going to go for it. I did not have the space nor the thousands of dollars he wanted for his 500 rolls. He asked me what was comfortable for me to be money and number of rolls wise. I proposed 250 rolls @ half the amount and the chance to pick and choose. He decided to go ahead and do it. Oh my God, what have I done! I got to the store with a bed stacked to the sky and the cabin of the truch full of lace and ecru tones fabrics. I was sick to my stomach from just looking at the mess. It took 2 more friend to just unload the fabric in the back. You should have seen their faces, you know, the "she just lost it" face. I did! I'm not in the textile business
nor I have a clue what to do with so much fabric. I already sold 100.00 worth of fabric but it will take me forever to sell the rest plus the storage problem is bad. One thing though, the fabrics are to die for. So friends, take pity on me and come buy me out of this mess. Troy, Robelyn, Daphne and the rest of the gifted designers, come and rescue me, PLEASE!!!!!!
I will be posting pictures of the fab fabrics soon, life permits. Blessings, Marta.

Hello, hello, is anybody there?

Hello sweet friends, specially my girls at Collectors Market. I have been MIA for a couple of weeks know. The last couple of weeks have been challenging to said the least. I got a triple whammy. Try this. Income taxes, sales taxes, inventory taxes, arggg. I have face them head on, I'm a big girl I can handle it. Then mix in painting with 35 miles an hour winds, clogged sprayers every two minutes, etc. We have been traveling every weekend, this week is on to Cleburne for their 28 mile Antique Alley. We will go rain or not since this is our favorite show to attend. Next weekend we will attend a city wide garage sale in Lampasas and after that is saving money time for me. I have amazed enough inventory to last me until the end of the summer. I will try to take pictures and post. I have missed my pink friends so much. Been a lurker is not as much fun as to managing a blog. I'm planning a celebration with all my bloggy friends since my 100 post is soon approaching. Until next time, keep me in your prayers and know that i love you all, sweet friends. Blessings, Marta.

Wonderful White at Roundtop

I'm sooooooo happy. Taxes done and over. This is what tax time feel to me; constipation. I have stress over them for days. The amount of paperwork, info is getting to be overwhelming to me. I have a bookkeeper, still, I'm the one with the tons of paperwork to sort out. I must admit my downfalls, I'm not organized and have always been a procrastinator that will excell in crunch time. I'm getting older though, last week I keep forgetting where I put my keys, license, cell phone, bankstuff, etc. So, do you see what I mean? brain constipation I think is called.
Enough about that, now to the good stuff. I hope you are not yet getting tired of pictures of the Roundtop show. I have the most fun this year, I went twice, I could have stay there for days. I only put a pinch on the acre after acre of yumminess. I reserved all the pictures of the fabulous white vignettes put together by the folks at Texas Rose show. Just look and let me know what you think.

One last picture and the story attached to it. One of my girlfriends got this chaise lounge in her garage. It was given to her daughter but she could not find a place for it plus it needed to be reupholstered or slipcovered, both options were to expensive for her to do. It was a mauve color, dirty mauve color. I asked about it because I can see the potential, keeping in mind that I'm no seamstress or know how to upholster. I have another idea in mind but it was going to be a trial and error thing. At that time she needed money for it and I could not afford it. Last week my friend called me and told me she got stuff she was going to burn or throw away. When I got to her house the couch was in the junk pile with a "broken" leg. They have gotten fed up with the stuff taking up the space and they were ready to trash it all. I have told her a million times never to trash anything without letting me look. I'm the junk disposal to them. Well, needless to say I took it to the shop, "broken leg and all. The leg was not broken, they simply bend the screws when they tossed it. I change them  and problem number one solved! Then I thought, ok, I can't put any money into this piece nor I can stored it. Well, I  took my sprayer to it, nothing to loose, lot to gain. It is not the first time I have done this. After that I took fine sand paper to it so I can take the edge off . The plan was to tea stained. I left it in the showroom and fluffed it up until I can finished it. Last Saturday my first costumer of the day saw it, just the way it was, an unfinished product. I told her that I have the intention to tea stained and retouch some spots. She told me she was visiting from north Dallas and she was going to take it just like it was. I asked if she was going to have it worked on and she said NOT, she loved everything about it. Considering the fact that I was not happy about selling an unfinished project to her, I only charged her 125 dollars. She was a happy camper and I made a profit out of somebody outcast item. I love it.

I know, I'm crazy. I can only tell you to go for it.  Now you know, caca yellow couch, paint it, avocado green chairs, paint them. The sky is the limit.
Lastly, my thanks to Ms. Kathleen @ Faded Charm for hosting White Wednesday party for us. Blessings, Marta.

Jesus is risen!

I want to take a chance to remember, to celebrate Jesus, and his love for us. I like bunnies and eggs and all the cute stuff but I don't want to loose sight of the real reason for celebrating Easter. I sing praise to the one that die for me, that raise from the grave and have gone to Heaven to make way for us. That is the Jesus I love, the one I serve, the one I'm waiting for. Thank you my savior!
I promise pictures of Roundtop with some pink stuff and I don't want to disappoint again. I have missed a couple of Pink Saturdays and I missed all the girls. I wished you a blessed Easter with your loved ones. Love , Marta.

Are these the prettiest cookies ? The  artist company is called Cookie Du Monde. I don't think I will want to eat such piece of art. She has a blog with the same name.

My thanks to Ms. Beverly @ How sweet the sound for faithfully continue to host Pink Saturday for all of us. Blessings on Easter Sunday and always, Marta.
