My pink loot from Accumulations vintage fare

Last Wednesday I was lucky enough to be invited to tag along with my dear friends Shawn and Krista to a vintage show in Drippings Springs Tx. Let me tell you, Hill Country in Texas is so beautiful and that is even before spring turn all the browns and taupes into beautiful greens. The ride there was LONG, try crossing Austin at rush hours. The 1 hour commuting turn into 2. It was all worth it. The quality of the vendors there was superb, this guys are the who is who of the antique business in this area. There was no fee for the entrance and the prices were reasonable. I think I found so many things that I love that I might keep it all.  Now the stuff you like PICTURES!

This little chick with the crown, the eggs and the toy are some of Linda's creations. She and her husband Ludmill are the proprietors of the famous Willow Nest. They have been feature in various national magazines. They  are both such a sweet and humble couple. They are both artists in their own mediums and so inspiring to me.

This pink hat I trade with a friend for a black victorian purse. The velvet millinery flowers look like dried hydrangeas.

A different shot of the grouping. The wire thingy is a wire body-form to which Linda added trims and pieces of pink fabric.
Those pink eggs are the most beautiful shade of pink. I bought another jar full of robins egg color ones. I think I'm going to color match both colors for some of the furniture.

The pink lamp, isn't georgeous. I need to rewire it but I love that shade and the fact that it is in such good shape.

Last but not least, the baby, have you seen a sweeter face? The scoop in her is such a happy event for me. My friend Krista is in the process of closing her antique business. I have admired and drooled over her for months, I just didn't have the money to splurge. Wednesday we met at her store and as she walked towards me I noticed the baby in her hand. She put her in my arms like you would a real baby and just gave her to me!!!!! I'm a happy mama now, proud mom of a sweet little girl that needed a new home. Krista, thank you, I do not deserve all the kindness that you and Shawn have bestowed upon me. I will considered myself  blessed if I get to keep you and your family as my friends for ever. Love you before the doll, love you always.

I called this pretty thing a toy because I can not remember the name, not even in Spanish!

Love the tag and the pretty french ribbon, details that make this even more special.

Last, some beautiful  trims in the most beautiful shade of pink. I'm dreaming pillows, with little pleated ruffles and some of this trims.
I'm very excited about tomorrow. We are going to one of the sales I look forward to attend. Spring is coming and with that happy treasure hunting days ahead. This is the time of the year when I get most of my inventory. I will post and share  my finds with you all. The friends close to my shop, come on by one of this days. Thanks to our host Ms. Beverly for so faithfully continue to oversee over this party. She have a list of the rest of the pinky friends in her blog HOW SWEET THE SOUND. Blessings, Marta.

Accumulations Show

Ah... nothing like friends and amazing junk. This are some of the amazing vendors that participated at the Accumulations Show. Most of them need no introduction, especially Linda an Ludmill from Willow Nest. The show will be today too until 4:00. It is beautiful Hill Country, you will love it.

My friend Denise

Micki and Brandy's booth

Willow Nest beauties. I just wish I can load all their wares in my truck and called a day.

Finally one of the most beautiful persons I have ever met. This Lady is beautiful in and out. I wish I live next door and she can adopt me. Have you ever seen her creations? I love you Linda, your sweet spirit shines thru.
Lastly but not less important, I thought we took pictures of the rest of the celebrities and artists in site. I guess my friends didn't know how to use my camera. No pictures of my dear friend Theresa and the gracious hostess, mom and daughter Micki and Brandy. Girls, next time I will do the picture taking. LOL to all of you and THANKS for the great time. Blessings, Marta.
Pd My heart was so moved by this, tell me if this business is not full of amazing people that care for others. Theresa lost about 300.00 dollars worth of ironstone, the wind knocked it over her display and it all broke. You know what this people did? They went and gather ironstone from their wares and gave the pieces to Theresa. Now, top that. I LOVE THIS PEOPLE.

White Wednesday babies

Hello WW friends. I thought I will show a table vignette I put together at the shop. As some of you might know I own a shop and I don't have any vendors, it is just moi and my junk. Well, sometimes I just start to run out of ideas and stuff. I have sooo many tables and cabinets that I try to keep fully merchandise, CONSTANTLY, never ending cycle. You friends that own shops know how demanding it is, sometimes trying to make your merchandise stand out as much as you can, making the old look new by shaking and moving things around a lot. I always get a lot of feedback from faithfull costumers that keep coming back, the reason been that they can not believe how much the shop changes from week to week.
In the mean this shop owner is getting her butty kick by so much work. We work so hard, no pitty party, this is what I chose to do and feel so blessed by the fact that I get to do exactly what I dream to do.
I decided to showcase my babies and kid related stuff. This cloche needs something, hum...

I'm purging some of my bears, reluctantly
This baby is the son of Chucky. Somebody did a number in his eyes, spooky.

This baby is so ugly and then I make him metrosexual(dress him like a girl when he is clearly a BOY).  Love the little wool hat and the slippers.
Little  bear and boy stuff vignette.  That tattered bear was missing an ear. I gave him one but he is still one sad bear and one very wanted bear. He is not for sale.
The slippers, so Hollywood baby and just made in Texas.
This little elephant is mohair, so old and cute.
                                                     Boy stuff

                                                     Boys, boys, boys

That little girl in the picture I love, she reminds me of somebody, I just can't tell who.
Well  dear friends, go and visit the rest of the WW posse. Thanks to our host Ms. Kathleen @ Faded Charm. If you want beautiful whites she is one of the best in blogland. Blessings, Marta.

Pink roses and other flowers

I thought I will show you my collection of pink roses and flowers. Most of them are Capodimonte. I bought most of them when we were stationed in Germany.

Just as dresden figurines these flowers are so fragile that sometimes they will chipped when you handle them. Most of mine survive the travels in great shape, no so much the Dresdens.

This one is one of my favorites, it looks almost like a real flower

                                                             Pretty, pretty

This rose bush its about 12 inches tall

Hope you all have a great Pink Saturday. Thanks to Ms Beverly @ How Sweet The Sound for hosting the funnest party in blogland. Blessings, Marta.

It is not important

I just post a minute ago but I just check a blog I have been following for over a year now. I don't know how many of you know Witt Harris Lupher. Little Witt have everybody's heart, of those who know him in person and from hundreds or maybe thousands that have met him and his family thru blogging. He is in dear need of all of our prayers. Please, help me pray for Baby Witt and his family. If you want to be blessed visit his blog and meet him. Blessings, Marta.
PD: all the sudden my venting post or anything else is less important. I'm ok, maybe too spoiled, prayers for Witt, this is really important.

God, please give me grace!

This is going to be a venting post, because I'm worn out, my knee hurts and don't always understand people. See the pretty hat, you seen it before. It is not the most amazing hat in the world, but it was my favorite hat. I got it in the shop, without a price tag because I wanted to keep it,  since I spend more time at the shop. Sometimes I bring personal things and label them with the dreaded NFS.  Well, the hat is gone, sold, I thought. I'll come back to the hat. I collect little prayer books, miniature most of them in cream color. Well, I  had a black prayer book, early 1900s which again I didn't want to sell.  About 4 weeks ago a lady visited the shop for the first time and told me she just got her income tax refund and was going to expend it all at the shop. I spend about and hour following her around the store and practically took it apart for her. She spent 650.00. Hurrah...until she stock her hand in her purse and took out a piece of wrinkly paper that I recognize as a temporary check. I will not accept a temporary check for such a big amount of money but that is not all, she scratch the name on it! I told her I could not take her temp check and that by altering that way it was not a legal document anymore. She said she was embarassed and that she was a christian woman. My answer to that was that I didn't know her or cuestioned her Christianity, but as a shop manager I will not accept her check and I adviced her to go to the say bank and bring me the cash since they have branches everywhere in town. Well, she did not came back that day, she showed up 4 days later. She weed out her purchases to 345.00 and paid cash. The same lady came back with a group of her church sisters 2 Saturdays ago. The ladies bought a whole bunch of hats and other things. Well, the original lady told me that she wanted to purchase the pink hat that I didn't want to sell and my prayer book. She told me to price it were I get what I need to be happy about selling both items. Considered that she brought more people, big expenders and as an  appreciation token I decided to let her buy the hat and the book at a lower price than I would have wanted. She pulled out clean temporary checks and told me looking me in eye to please trust her since I should know her by now. Can you guess the rest?  3 days later as I check my e bank account I noticed SHE WROTE A HOT CHECK!!!! I went to the bank the next day and got a copy of the check and inmediately called her. I did most of the talking and I tell you what, the money part hurt but not as much as the fact that she knew that both items were dear to me, the fact that she keep saying she was a christian and the fact that she look me in the eye and asked me to TRUST her. She told me that 3 people draw from that acccount and that she will make it up to me. Whatever, that was 2 weeks ago. I don't want to run the check again for the fear of extra fees and I don't understand why I have to go to so much trouble. I have received hot checks before but this one got me really upset. People, if you can not cover less than 100.00 check you should not be shopping and writing checks. At this point and time I can say that woman stole from me. Why she so adamantly wanted the stuff that was not for sale? I don't know, it only make it more personal to me. Secondly, I'm a believer and I dare not use the name of God in vain, when you introduce yourself as a christian you better back it up with a christian walk and conduct. No wonder we are having to struggle so much to get people to want to be in a relationship with God. Non christians do not read the Bible, we are the Bible to them. They are watching us, our testimony, our conduct which speak louder than words. I say show me Christ in your life with the way you live it. We all make mistakes, I don't think the say lady made a mistake, I ignored my gutt feeling and pay for it.
I play K love music all day long. It is a comptemporary gospel station and I get so many compliments about it from the costumers. It ministers to me and have open doors via conversation about my beliefs. I have The Word in signs and they are hot sellers. The people that enter the shop noticed immediately that we are Christians. When I opened the shop I pray to God to use it as a tool for His glory, to be not only a place filled with pretty things but a place were people will find a word of friendship, a word of comfort, a needed hug, a listening ear, etc. It have been mostly positive, lots of tears, hugs, words shared there. Every once in a while my patience is tested by people that think been rude and spreading hate is their solemn duty. They never heard the saying...if you got nothing nice to say...This woman walk in and her salutation was "I HATE YOUR MUSIC" I ignored her and she repeated the same thing 3 times and ended asking me to turn it off. I didn't, I turn it down, not off. How dare you? I think that if my music offends you, my signs, the fact that God is constanly a subject of my conversations, you are entitled to LEAVE. It is my right to do what ever I want in my shop. It sounds harsh, but let me tell you, somebody have to stand up against hate and rudeness.  That is not the type of enviroment I want in my shop. It is dedicated to God and I want His spirit to dwell there and in my life too. So yes!, there you have it, I do get upset every once in a while and rude, hateful people make me feel like praying more, for grace and the patience that only comes from God. Tomorrow is another day and I will try my best to let it go.  Joyce Mayer said one time to be careful what you pray for. I pray for a store, a place to earn some honest money and the chance to minister to others. Well, it comes with a price, the good, the bad and the ugly, I can not change people, I can only pray that God will change them. Not always right, just trying to do right thing. God is good , always. Take care, Blessings, Marta.

A lot of nonsense

This a White Wednesday post that comes out of sheer wanting to share with my friends, because energy wise I am findidng myself exhausted. To make matters worst I fell in the ice last week and you know, I'm a big girl so I hit hard, REALLY hard. I did a half split and I don't remember hitting my shoulder but I discovered I have a black and blue shoulder. I scrape my ankle but luckily that was the extend of that. The worst is my knee, instead of getting better is hurting more. I have been nursing it, I guess when you get older things just take longer. As long as it get better before the shows I will be a happy camper. Enough about that. I have been lurking, not leaving comments but getting tons of inspiration. How many blogs are out there? I guess millions because I keep finding them. Enough blah, blah. On to the stuff you like.

It almost feel like is black Wednesday, you see later, but I'm running out of ideas.
I got so many smalls that is challenging to find ways to display them.

Boxes full of nonsense. Buckles, camera bulbs, vintage first aid stuff, letters, muslin bags, etc.

I kind of like the boxes full of stuff since a lot of people like to gig and see what is inside.

I believe you have seen her before, I have to move it to another space to accomodate new stuff.

This cabinet is not coming together, is lacking something.

I know is WW but is silver and black in a white cabinet, that counts, no?

More silver. I'm not happy at all with my pictures this week.

More nonsense

Stuff and more stuff.
I think I have done as much nick picking as I can muster for today.

Friends, this are all the photos I took today. I'm still putting new vignettes together around the store. I will show you the progress. Take care and have an amazing week. Thanks to our host Ms.  Kathleen @ Faded Charm. Go to her blog for a list of the WW friends. Blessings, Marta.
