Graduations, such a happy time, so much accomplished.
This young girl I do not know, yet I know she is a very special child. No small feat what she accomplished , valedictorian in a graduating class of 390. A bittersweet day for her and her family and for us listening. Her dad was not there, he is somewhere in the Middle East serving this country. He and many other troops got to see their kids graduate via satellite. It really broke my heart, see those man applauding, raising their arms with pride as their little ones walk that stage. My niece graduated, we were a posse of about 15, just for her. We later went to a restaurant and celebrated with her, ALL OF US. This is were I going with this, I prayed that We will never allowed ourselves to take for granted the ones fighting for our freedom. It is hard to be part of a military community active or retired. This folks sacrificed so much and many times they do the ultimate sacrifice. If we were to talk about the ones left behind , what this kids, mothers and fathers, spouses have to do in order to keep some sense of normality... We don't know how it is, many of us had never have to endure. So today, maybe from now on, can we thank a troop when he/she cross our path, can we remind ourselves to say a prayer for them?
TO ALL OFF YOU SERVING OUR COUNTRY, THANK YOU SO MUCH.
