As promise, pink stuff for my pinky friends

Oh my God, what a week, tomorrow some much needed rest. I have been chasing sales and trying to replenished the merchandise at the shop. One problem I am confronting, I'm selling faster than I can replace. See, I don't buy market stuff, everybody in the other shops got that, I like to have one of the kind stuff, when is gone is gone. I finding myself driving farther  and coming home empty handed. Not good at all. The market in this area is so depleted. I can not resort to garage sales since is baby town or stinky clothes deals. We don't carry those. We need to hit the mother load soon, if not we are going to be in serious trouble. I'm hoping is the effect of having one of the coldest winters ever, 3 inches of snow in Central Texas? I'm ready for Spring and the big shows, junk paradise for us. So just to get in the spirit I took some pictures of Spring around the shop. Hope you enjoy.
Stuff in the pink and green room

Bunnies in the pink and aqua room

Vignette in pink and lavender

My poor pink feather tree with Spring ornaments. This one is really pretty in person, bad photos

Love the pink bottles, I might altered them, maybe not since the shade of pink is just beautiful as it is.

Some pink roses things

A fushia chiffon dress and hat,  60's?  If I was that size I will wear it in a heart beat.
Ok my friends, its almost 9:00 and I'm beat. You take care of yourselves and have a blessed week. Don't forget to visit the other pink friends and thanks to our host Ms. Beverly @ How sweet the sound. Blessings, Marta.

I'm late for Pink Saturday

Pinky friends, I'm gonna be late posting for Pink Saturday. I left my camera in the shop, but I promise I will take some pictures and post tonight. Please come back later tonight and visit. Blessings, Marta.

A REALLY WHITE WEDNESDAY

IT'S SNOWING IN CENTRAL TEXAS.  THIS IS THE THIRD TIME FOR ME IN ABOUT 18 YEARS. IT HAVE BEEN SNOWING IN OTHER PARTS MORE TO THE NORTH, BUT FOR US COUNTRY FOLK IN THE CENTRAL AREA THIS IS BIG.  THE KIDS GOT OUT OF SCHOOL EARLY AND MY HUSBAND WAS HOME BY 11:00 THIS MORNING, TOMORROW IS MOSTLY BACK TO NORMAL, UNLESS SOMETHING CHANGES TONIGHT. IT IS SO BEAUTIFUL AND SERENE TO SEE IT SNOW. I KNOW THAT MOST OF YOU ARE SICK OF ALL THE SNOW, NOT HERE IN TEXAS. THAT IS NOT DENYING  THAT WE ARE ALL READY FOR SPRING AND SOME GREEN.

LET'S TALK ABOUT THIS LITTLE GIRL. I PAY 10.00 FOR HALF OF HER SINCE SHE WAS BROKEN WAIST DOWN. I FELL IN LOVE WITH HER SWEET FACE AND DECIDED I WILL RESCUE HER SOMEHOW.

I FOUND A CUTE BAG THAT GOT STAINS ALL OVER IT. I USED LACE AND MOD PODGE TO DECOPAGE THE LACE AND DISGUISE THE STAINS. IT TURN OUT PRETTY GOOD. THEN I THOUGHT THAT I CAN STASH HER BODY IN THE BAG.  I DIDN'T GLUE HER IN PLACE SINCE I MIGHT USED HER DIFFERENTLY IF SHE DOESN'T SELL QUICKLY. I MADE A TAG, HER CLOTHES AND VOILE!

I LIKE HER A LOT, LIKE A LOT, LIKE HOARDING HER.

JUST SOME SNOW, ENOUGH FOR MY TO STAY HOME AND PLAY.

OK , THIS LADY WAS A LLADRO FIGURINE I BROKE THE OTHER DAY. I CAN NOT BRING MYSELF TO TRASH HER SINCE HER TORSO SURVIVED IN ONE PIECE. I DECIDED TO ALTERED HER AND MAKE A  TRI-DIMENSIONAL COLLAGE. HER HAT AND DRESS TURN OUT REALLY PRETTY. IT'S A BIG PIECE ABOUT 18 INCHES TALL. THE PICTURES DON'T DO HER ANY JUSTICE. I HAVE STARTED TO CRAFT AGAIN THANKS TO ALL THE INSPIRATION IN THE BLOGS. THERE IS SOME SERIOUS TALENT OUT THERE.

WELL FRIENDS THIS IS ALL FOR THIS WW. THANKS TO OUR HOST MS KATHLEEN @ FADED CHARM. YOUR COMMENTS MEAN A LOT TO ME, SO LEAVE ME A WORD WHEN YOU VISIT. BLESSINGS, MARTA.

My favorite pink china

When I first started participating in Pink Saturday I blog about the fact that I love china, anything decked with roses and with lots of pink. I own several sets of china but my forever fav is The Staffordshire Rose by Myott Staffordshire, England. I fell in love with it about 15 years ago and it have taken me that long to collect what I have.I have never seen the coffee and tea pots. I can imagine that if in fact there are any out there the price is probably unreal. I was told that this pattern was chosen by Queen Victoria. The Staffordshire Rose was last fire in 1936. You can find pieces with and without the royal stamp on them. I have been so fortunate that most of my pieces have the royal code of arms stamp plus the royal crown stamp. Most pieces will have some creasing been so old. I love that patina. I should have taken a picture of the seals in the back of the pieces, I forgot.

I will leave  bids on Ebay and will never win, that went on for 10 years!. Talking about patience, I came across the double handled soup bowls in one of my first trips to Canton. I found 10 of the soup bowls there for 18.00 a piece. That was a major score since they retail for up to 40.00 each.

Yummy

Don't you think food will taste even better if served on this?

I will pair the china with my pink Hobnail and Fostoria Depression glasses.

The gravy boat was one of the last pieces I have added to the collection. I believe I paid about 30.00.

Of course there is never enough of a good thing... so I added the green to my collection. I own a
lot of pieces of green glass so it make all the sense to me. There is robins egg blue too. I do not own any blue since I don't use a lot of blue in my house.

One of this days I will set up the table for you since I have pink silverware too.

Oh! I forgot to tell you about the 10 years worth of lost bids on Ebay. Sometime ago somebody have a set for four dinnerware of the pink. They did not know what it was or the value so to them it was just pink china. They started the bid low and guess what, moi won...SCORE!!!!! I paid 150.00. The retail value to a collector, about 800.00. Good things happen to those who wait.
My dear pinky friends I hope you enjoy looking at them as much as I do. The dishes are priceless to me. Maybe Queen Victoria ate in one of my dishes. Don't forget to visit the other pinky friends, I love your comments and will try my best to respond to yours. Thank you to Ms, Beverly @ How sweet the sound for hosting the funnest event for all of us pinky girls. Blessings, Marta

White Wednesday pretties

She is a beauty only thing was that she was missing a finger and the color of her hat and dress was ugly. I still went ahead and bought her for 25.00. I altered the hat by adding millinery flowers and lace. I painted the hat and dress and decoupaged lace to her dress too. To cover the missing finger I found a bouquet of flowers that look like bisque. I think she turn out pretty sharp.

This  used to be the red room. No more red, only hues of cream and whites. i'm not done but it is looking cute.

I started to altered old bottles. I'm having the most fun with these and for business wise I rather do this than the tags. The tags are just as time consuming and you don't get as much for them.

Don't you think they turn out cool?

This litle frame got a broken top, i just added broken jewerly and a pretty velvet ribbon to hang.

I bought the frame for this piece of lace and pray it will fit, it was just perfect.

I bought this light fixture that came loaded with the yarn balls. I was not interested in the light part, just love the balls.

More thread. Love the different shades of white.

This is all for this WW post. Thanks to Ms Kathleen @ FADED CHARM for hosting. Blessings, Marta.

I'm insane

Have you seen the show HOARDERS?  I'm in it, just joking, but to a smaller degree I'm a hoarder too. I have a milion collections and at the store I wish I can keep it all. Beauty attracts me... a lot. Then again it doesn't have to be beautiful since some of the stuff is really junk but if I like it I will find beauty in it. I sometimes buy stuff because it got good bones. Then the projects start to pile and before you know it you have a couple of buildings full of "treasures" . Been gifted pose a problem too. I like to dab into everything. I love sewing, upholstery, painting and making pretties. I have seen some of the artists and some of the magazines (Where women create) which make me feel like I'm more delusional than gifted. Such beautiful rooms, soo organized, soo beautiful. I have more crafting material than I can fit in ten buildings and it is so disorganized that everytime that I look for stuff I have to look so hard that I either give up or ended so tired that I just don't. Somebody told me that is called creative mess. I don't know.
Let's talk buttons. I spend 500.00 dollars in buttons some months back. Big buyers remorse. Yes, I have sold some, reluctanly.

Custom jewerly, yummy, broken jewerly, yummy. Do I want to use it in my crafts? No

Ephemera, LOVE, old pictures, old books, documents, post cards, letters, journals, etc, bring it on!
This is not pretty but is my idea and as close I will ever get to some kind of organization. I used jewerly and shoe racks to "organize my stuff. I love them because I can see the stuff. The bad thing is that they are hanging right now over every single door.  The pictures are upside down.Argg!

I spend last Thursday coffee staining fabrics and lace. I can't wait to make some of those altered collage pillows. I used a tension curtain rod in my guest bathroom. The stuff is still hanging there plus the stains on the bathtub. The bathroom smell like coffee but I have been lucky, my husband got a cold and can't smell a thing. I better get to the mess before he does.

So, for my costumers that ask me all the time if my house looks like the shop, here is my answer: I wish
We live there and I don't have a craft room in the house so crafting at home equals BIG MESS.
Creative chaos, that is the best description. Let's talked messy, how messy are you or you are not messy at all. Please share, I take suggestions, interventions and rehab if deemed necessary. Blessings, Marta.
PD  We went junking to San Antonio this past weekend, wait till you see what we found. Photos later.

HAPPY VALENTINES

WHEN I THINK ABOUT LOVE, THE GREATEST, THE PUREST, THE BIGGEST I THINK ABOUT MY SAVIOR. I DO NOT OF ANY OTHER THAT WOULD HAVE GIVEN HIS PRECIOUS LIFE FOR ME. THEN I THINK ABOUT THE LOVE OF A MOTHER FOR HIS CHILD, THERE IS NOTHING WE WOULD NOT DO FOR OUR KIDS, CERTAINLY THE CLOSEST THING TO THE LOVE OF GOD FOR US. THEN I THINK ABOUT MY HUSBAND OF SO MANY YEARS AND HOW MUCH WE LOVE EACH OTHER. WE HAVE CHANGE SO MUCH PHYSICALLY, WE HAVE GOTTEN OLDER AND SOMETIMES NOT NECESSARILY WISER BUT THE ONE THING THAT HAVE ENDURE IS OUR LOVE FOR EACH OTHER. THEN IS MY DEAR FAMILY FOR WHICH I'M SO THANKFUL FOR HAVING CLOSE TO ME, DRAMA AND ALL. AND LASTY MY DEAR FRIENDS, THE ONES THAT TAKE CARE OF ME AND THE ONES THAT NEED TO BE TAKEN CARE OF. I THOUGHT ABOUT THE REASON WHY I LOVE ALL THIS PEOPLE AND I REALIZE THAT IS THE WORK OF GOD IN MY HEART. IF I DIDN'T HAVE THE LORD I BELIEVE MY CAPACITY FOR LOVE WILL BE SO HINDERED BY OTHER THINGS. I WILL PROBABLY BE NEGOTIATING MY LOVE THRU LIFE. THERE IS NOTHING TO NEGOTIATE. I  LOVE BECAUSE HE LOVE ME FIRST. SO TODAY AND EVERYDAY LET US TAKE TIME TO THINK ABOUT THE BIGGEST LOVE WE WILL EVER KNOW, ABOUT THE ONES THAT GOD HAVE BLESS US WITH IN OUR LIVES AND LET US TELL, WE NEED TO HEAR IT, NOT ONLY TODAY, BUT ALWAYS AND EVERYDAY.

SOME EYE CANDY FOR MY PINKY FRIENDS.

THANKS YOU ALL FOR STOPPING BY AND TO OUR SWEET HOSTESS MS BEVERLY @ HOW SWEET THE SOUND FOR HAVING US. YOUR COMMENTS WILL MAKE MY DAY.BLESSINGS, MARTA.

White Wednesday and running out of ideas

It is WW and I checked my photo folder just to find out there was no whites to talk about. So I proceeded to take ramdom pictures around the house. I got more pink and green than whites so I'm running out of ideas. I don't like to use the web for my pictures for the fear of stepping in somebody's toes, you know, the copyright thing. I have observed that a lot of people are very strongly opposed to others using their pictures. I will never copy or use any pictures without asking first but it makes me wonder if the people using others stuff are as respectful of their wishes of not been copy or use without consent. I personally do not have a problem about that, I consider it a form of flattery. I actually have other shop owners come and reproduce the look and ideas. I don't care, if I can inspire you to clean, decorate, repurpose and be a better queen of  your home then I have contribute some. I understant were some of you come from, I have been burn too, but lately God have been working in me about this, about letting go, placing the value in what is really important. I love my store, but is a store full of stuff. I rather care for the people that stop by looking for a human connection, the friendships and the kindred spirits that come thru. That is just my opinion, lol.

Now on to what you like most PICTURES!

Some mirrors
I love anything made with mother of pearl and  seashells
      GIRLS,  GIRLS, GIRLS
Found this beauty at the last CITY WIDE @ the Expo

This one is a French figural face powder container

Little headvase, the original ink price in it is .25

Guess what? These two beauties are a salt and pepper shaker set.

Of course, I have to include a Reubens planter girl.
This is all folks. Thanks to our host Ms. Kathleen. Blessings, Marta.
