A wonderful day

Today I went to Waco for some much needed fun with my friend Trish. We visited the flea market and about 5 shops all over town. I have not laugh so much in a long time and I will show and tell you why. One of the things I love the most about my job is the places and people you get to meet. This morning at the flea market we met a modern day viking. Yes, a viking! This fellow looked the part and I should have taken a picture, yellow teeth, long beard, a million tattoos, long tangled hair, super tight Beavis and Butt head t shirt...do you get the picture?. What really got us was the artifacts this guy was selling and his selling pitch. Ok, here are the pictures of the stuff.

Now the pitch. " Imagine you are in a parking lot and some dude comes to attack you, you take this weapon (referring to the little pin ball attached to the chain) swing it and wack him over the head, believe me you will knock him out". Then he pitch the little key which he sawder the tip  "With this one you place it between your two fingers and you jab and stab him, believe me, he won't mess with you", remember we are talking about the key with the half inch pointy edge. I can't help but pee in my pants as I write this one. The way he said it, believe me, he is a believer. Of all the "self-defense artifacts on that table he got to pick the two most inefficient ones and the way he try to sell them...never something sooo funny.

Have to admit tough some of the stuff was pretty mean looking and will definitely hurt someone if you were to use them, but those two he try to sell, NOT.
I took pictures of some amazing stuff but I will share those with you some other time. I just have to talk about this guy. Trish, I have not laughed so hard in a long time and today after last week sadness I needed some laughter. Thanks for all the fun, lets do it again soon. I think we will be laughing about this one for a while. Thank you God for the gift of great friends and for sending them to lift our spirits up at the right time. God is sooooo good.

It feels more like summer.

The thermostat in my house says early summer, still some of the spring flowers keep lingering, I still like to go outside, sit and watch. With all the rain in the last couple of weeks we did get to enjoy a green spring after a 2 years of not seeing my beautiful natives come out. Let me share some pictures I took around the property. pretty soon it all be brown.

My Juju having a ball playing in the bluebonnets. He will hop like a lamb and then swish his face against the flowers.

The back acreage is full of native daisies, bluebonnest and everything else.

This spot will make a perfect spot for a fire ring. Maybe someday.
The shop, the storage building and DH workshop.
A giant kennel with no dogs. Maybe I should start a pet hotel.

                                                                        My little house

The three amigos. This are 3 gigantic oaks in front of my house. I fell in love with this trees the moment I set foot in the property. I sit under them almost daily and thank God for them.
My neighbor's home and my driveway full of bluebonnets.

Some more wildflowers. got to love it.!
Thanks for indulging me. I think that is known to everybody that I LOVE the land that God provided for us. I pray for so many years and I finally found it one day. Everybody that set foot in it falls in love with it. It had been a source of joy for my family and my friends and a day doesn't go by that I thank God for it, for every tree, every flower, the possums, skunks, coyotes at night, the horse and mule sounds, the smell, everything about it. God is good.
