Last Saturday we celebrated our open house. It took 4 months in the making. We opened because we have to. My husband wanted me to take it easy and take one more week, I felt that if I have done that I might as well take my Christmas down, too late in my opinion. Friday night before the opening we have boxes after boxes to unpack and merchandise. We decided (my friend Denise and me) it was not humanly possible to achieved. We loaded the back of both trucks and tarp over everything. I went to bed at 3:30 and was up by 6:30. I went to the shop and worked with my friend Krista until 9:30, when she insisted I go and changed my pajamas before people started to show up. My friend Ms Ann prepared the most amazing food to share with the costumers and everybody seemed to have a great time. I could see the pride in my family's eyes and it warmed my heart. All the sacrifices, tears, prayers, whining, waiting, everything was so worth it. After 13 years my shop is all mine. I give the glory to God for His gifts and blessings, for His favor and love for us. Thank you to my angels, you know who you are. I LOVE YOU ALL. You made it possible because of your help and support. Enjoy some pictures of some vignettes around the shop. Some already changed.
There is so much to be done, some final details and a lot of merchandising. Today I crafted even though I should have been working. Hum... tomorrow is another day. Blessings, Marta.

Congratulations on your grand opening! Your shop looks fantastic! I only wish I was back in central Texas so I could stop by. My very best wishes for a Merry Christmas to you and yours...
It looks beautiful! I wish I knew where you were so I could come see it in person...wanna let me in on the secret?
What a beautiful blog - I'm a junk lover, too. Now at the age of 71 I must decide how I'm going to dispose of it all. It's never a good idea to collect so much that it becomes a burden! The baby picture behind your doll holding the "children" sign is the same print that came with my crib when my mother bought it in 1939. A blessed and happy new year to you and yours.
